450K is a mixed-use apartment building located in Washington DC’s Mount Vernon Triangle Historic District. The plan is organized around a central court that opens towards Mount Vernon Square, optimizing views and natural light for residents. The exterior palette of masonry and metal and its organization of forms echo the character of the surrounding historic district in a contemporary manner. Interior design was performed by Forrest Perkins. Developed by Kettler, 450K was approved by the Historic Preservation Review Board, the Board of Zoning Adjustment, and the local Advisory Neighborhood Commission.
