  • The site for this conceptual design lies at the nexus of the Clarendon and Courthouse neighborhoods, both of which have seen recent growth with the arrival of retail amenities, offices, and residences within easy walking distance along Arlington’s Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor. It lies at a pinch point in this rapidly evolving linear development zone, flanked by lower density residential neighborhoods immediately to the north and south, nearly equidistant from two Metrorail stations. The goal for the project is to maximize access to all of the various neighborhood amenities, serving as an exemplar of progressive, walkable, transit-oriented urban design. The building’s landscaped roof, accessed from the fifth floor, rises as a hillscape, winding northward around the site to form an elevated urban park.
